Upward Health Ranks No. 7 on the 2023 Inc. 5000

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. / August 15, 2023 / Upward Health, a risk-bearing, in-home medical group, announced today that it ranks No. 7 on the 2023 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. As a first-time honoree, it also claims the position of No. 1 for companies headquartered in the State of New York and No. 3 in the Health Services category.

The announcement comes at a time of rapid growth for Upward Health. Since 2020, the company has entered at least one new state each year and now delivers its whole-person model of care to high-risk and high-need patients from coast to coast. The rapid growth extends to both its health plan partnerships, which include a mix of both national and regional managed care organizations, and its employees, which have expanded dramatically over the last two years and now hail from over 20 states.

Placing so highly on the Inc. 5000 list is a tremendous recognition of the power of our mission, which is to assist patients with complex health and psychosocial needs,” said Glen Moller, CEO of Upward Health. “These patients often lack access to excellent primary care services or they are not well served by traditional options, where they may not have all the time they need with medical staff or they cannot physically get to an office. At Upward Health, we are helping patients overcome these barriers.

The Inc. 5000 utilizes a data-driven approach to identify independent, entrepreneurial companies that have experienced rapid revenue growth. Zoning in on the top 500 companies of this list, the average median three-year revenue growth rate was an astounding 2,238% and these organizations have added 1,187,266 jobs to the economy over the past three years.

“Our whole-person approach addresses all aspects of an individual’s care experience – physical health, behavioral health, and social determinants of health,” said Glen Moller, CEO of Upward Health. “In addition to navigating access challenges, we help our patients to improve the quality of care they receive and reduce avoidable hospitalizations. This provides better outcomes for those we serve and delivers outstanding results to our health plan partners.”
