Seth Zuckerman

Chief Business Officer

AKA: The Free Safety

Seth serves as Chief Business Officer at Upward Health, overseeing a range of business services that support clinical operations, including business development, implementation and growth of health plan partnerships, business analytics, marketing, and provider licensing and credentialing. He joined Upward Health in 2017 as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, where he led the company’s acquisition of Nalari Health and helped launch its first health plan partnership and field operations in Rhode Island.

Before joining Upward Health, Seth was a healthcare investor at Safeguard Scientifics, an early-stage venture firm focused on technology companies across multiple industries. During his time at Safeguard, he co-led several new investments and served on the boards of nearly 10 healthcare technology portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, Seth was a Manager at Monitor Deloitte (formerly Monitor Group), where he advised payers, providers, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies on growth strategy initiatives.

Seth graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University, where he was a John Jay Scholar, and earned his MBA with Dean’s Honors and Distinction in Finance and Economics from Columbia Business School. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Gaudenzia, a leading provider of substance use disorder services in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

When Seth isn’t busy blocking and tackling, metaphorically of course, he is compensating for a childhood spent eating spaghetti and meatballs by cooking slightly more exotic food every weekend and can be seen pushing one of his two young children in the running stroller while reminiscing about the single marathon he completed. He also has an affinity for rap music and travel to faraway places.
