Mehdi is our Psychiatric Medical Director responsible for development and oversight of the company’s behavioral health programs and the behavioral health team, with focus on ensuring cohesive, integrated care for our patients. He brings with him years of experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder, telepsychiatry and ACT (assertive community leadership) Team development and oversight.

Mehdi is a board-certified physician who has held numerous medical leadership positions. Most recently, he served as the Founder, Managing Partner and Psychiatrist of Integrated Behavioral Health, LLC, where he was responsible for developing the multidisciplinary, integrated approach to care and management of the practice. Prior to Integrated Behavioral Health, Mehdi served as the Medical Director for All Out Community Care Services and was Medical Director and Psychiatrist at Sinfonia Family Services in New Orleans. Mehdi graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he served as Chief Resident. He has a B.A. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Biology from St. Louis University, an MS in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health, and his Doctor of Medicine from Tulane University School of Medicine.

When Dr. Qalbani isn’t caring for patients, he is beating Dr. Anu Kaul in basketball, tennis or soccer, despite his lack of physical stature. He also enjoys cooking yummy food, enjoying good wine, and prefers t-shirts to collard shirts. Outside of medicine, he never lets the truth get in the way of a good story. You may catch him riding his bike, as he prefers it over driving.
